Welcome to Janathi Message

Ramadan 2009 (The Holy Month)

Surah Nuuh

There are great lessons to be learnt from the life patterns of Hazrat Nuuh (A.S). The Holy Quran attaches great importance to Him by giving His (A.S) examples in various Surahs. Seventy Eight Verses of different Surahs, other than this full Surah, give details about the preaching and divine system of Hazrat Nuuh (A.S).

Hazrat Nuuh (A.S) is considered Hazrat Aadam (A.S) the 2nd, who preached His nation for 950 years to be pious, righteous and straightforward believers, but they rejected Him. Hazrat Nuuh (A.S) was so obedient, submissive and sincere devotee to Allah (S.W.T) with high integrity and no compromise on divine unity. He preached the same divine message to His nation for centuries. Therefore, He is an ideal of Allah (S.W.T) for all the preachers and a divine model of patience, tolerance and perseverance.

His nation was completely washed by the great deluge but He was saved in his Ark along with his selectees. This great flood completely swept all the human beings including his disobedient wife and adamant son.

A new start of human generation took place from Him. Prophet Nuuh (A.S) constantly inculcated the unity of the Almighty and persuaded His nation from one generation to their many next progeny to believe in One Allah (S.W.T). He perpetually continued His daily mission without being frustrated with the rejection by His nation. He repeatedly conveyed them the revelations of Allah (S.W.T) with full confidence.

In the end of this Surah as a last resort measure Hazrat Nuuh (A.S) had to submit to the command of Allah (S.W.T) to completely perish His nation which did not pay any heed to His preaching for such a long duration. However, His persuasion to reality of Allah (S.W.T) presents a good modality to remain steadfast to invite people to righteousness and piety.

The preaching of the religion with mission, repeated persuasion and motivation of the rejecters and disbelievers, despite their tough opposition, is a Prophetic practice. Sinners and wrong doers continue to resent the inculcation of piety by the righteous personages and the saintly Friends of Allah (S.W.T). But it must be continued with integrity and so perfectly as duty from Allah (S.W.T) for the welfare of humanity.

The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) once said, "How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah (S.W.T) and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him". (Muslim)

A Muslim is required to behave in poverty and prosperity, affluence and hardship, in the manner stated in this Hadith. It means that to forget Allah (S.W.T) in prosperity, rather than being thankful to Him for His Favour is defiance of His Orders.

“Indeed Allah is with those who are patient.”( Holy Quran)
