Hazrat Abu Quhafah Usmaan bin Aamir (R.A)
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) was once sitting in the Masjid-e-Haram when Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) brought his old aged father to Rasoolullah (S.A.W). The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) saw them and said: “O Abu Bakr! You should have let your father at home so that I myself may go to see him.”
Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) supplicated, “O Prophet (S.A.W), it was necessary for my father to appear before you, not you to him.” Then the Prophet (S.A.W) made Hazrat Abu Quhafah (R.A) sit in front of Him (S.A.W) and rounded his blessed hands on his chest and invited him to Islam.
Hazrat Abu Quhafah (R.A) recited the Kalimah and entered the fold of Islam. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) at this event congratulated Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A) and his father (R.A). (Syrat-ul-Imam Ibn-e-Hisham, Vol. IV p.25. Al-Imam Abu Muhammad Abdul Malik bin Hisham bin Ayub Al-Humyari 213 AH)
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) had said to Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A), he should have let his father stay at home just to honour him. Among the Companions, Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) had the honour that his four generations were blessed to have the honour of being the Sahabah of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W).
The blessed four were Hazrat Abu Quhafah (R.A), his son Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A), his grandson Hazrat Abdul Rehman (R.A) and his great-grandson Hazrat Muhammad (R.A), all accepted Islam in the life of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and heeded to him as his Companions.
As well as this chain, there was another similar chain, from Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A)’s daughter Hazrate Asma bint Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A) and Hazrate Asma (R.A)’s son Abdullah bin Zubair (R.A), also had the honour of being Companions of the Prophet (S.A.W).
The honour was further bestowed upon Hazrat Abu Quhafah (R.A) when his grand daughter Hazrate Aisha Siddiqa (R.A) was married to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and hence became the Mother of the believer’s.
