We do not have specific days to do Khutum / Dua and when mentioned to a family member she accused me of being a wahaabi. Can you tell me, Is Thursday a special day to do Khutum and why? And is it permissible to do an annual Khutum specifically for a deceased family member on the day they died? I was told that you can/should do Khutum to thank god anytime you like and NOT to hold a specific day i.e. Thursday ( a lot of my family do Khutum on Thursdays) - and if you do not, does this make you a wahaabi? |

Esaale Sawaab for the deceased can be done at anytime as it is a Must Ahab Amal (Desirable Act). Some people do hatham on Thursday for the deceased. This is accepted and a good practice to hold as by doing this you set a specific time from your busy schedules solely to do Esaale Sawab for the deceased. However to hold the view that any person who doesn’t do hatham on Thursday is a Wahabbi is misinformed and should refrain from making such allegations. | |||
