558 Is it suitable to read your Niyath in Arabic (from a Namaz book) rather than in Urdu or Punjabi. However the Arabic meaning does not state which Namaz you are reading. How would you read that or would you just have it in your mind that for example you are ready Zohr Namaz?

Answer to the question was: Niyaath means intention. There is not necessarily a right and wrong method. As long as you are aware as to which Namaz you are reading, the type of Rakats you are reading (i.e.: Farz, Sunnah or Nafil) and that you know if you are reading on your own or with Jamaat, then this should be enough. Inshallah.

Niyaath can be done in any language, but to say it in Arabic is better.
