979 | What’s the reason behind why people say Azawajal or S.W.T after saying Allah? Is there a punishment for not saying it?
The Arabic phrase, Subhanahu Wa Taala often abbreviated as (S.W.T) appears after the name of Allah. Its English translated simply means: Glorified and exalted be He. Sometimes other expressions such 'Azza Wa Jall": meaning, He is the Mighty and the Majestic; are also used when the name of Allah is written or pronounced. Saying or writing these types of phrases are seen as an act of reverence and devotion towards Allah (S.W.T). However if you do not write/say it after the name of Allah (S.W.T) you will not be sinful, but it would be classed as disrespectful. (Answered by: Hafiz Mohammed Akhtar)
