Pomegranate is one of the fruit that has been mentioned in the Holy Quran and AHadith. Pomegranate has many cures for illness and it is good for 80 different diseases.

In the Holy Quran it mentions “There are two springs which will be gushing with force in these two (as well). [...] In them also there are fruits, date palms and pomegranates. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you both deny?” (Irfan ul Quran Surah Al Rahman Verse 66-69)

Hazrat Anas bin Malik (R.A) narrated that beloved Prophet (S.A.W) said, “There is not a pomegranate which does not have a pip from one of the pomegranates of the Garden (of Paradise) in it.”.

It is an excellent nutritive fruit which benefits the body greatly. Pomegranates are naturally rich in many vitamins and antioxidants. Pomegranate has been used as fruit and as medicine for centuries. Both pip and the skin are used to cure many illnesses. Pomegranate therefore is considered as a super fruit.

Pomegranate contains high levels of antioxidants which is linked to improving heart conditions by working in a similar fashion to aspirin. The juice helps in reducing the formation of blood clots, reducing blood pressure, joint problem and protecting against some cancers.

Sweet pomegranate has a hot and moist temperament, meaning it is particularly beneficial in helping those who suffer from poor blood circulation have cold hands and feet. It is also beneficial for the throat, chest, lungs and an inflamed stomach.

Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib (R.A) narrated that Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said, “Pomegranate and its rind (peel) strengthen digestion (stomach)”.

Pomegranate has anti bacterial and anti viral properties, which may be useful against common diseases of the gums. It prevents plaque and may also reverse previous plaque build-up.

Research suggests that drinking pomegranate juice may be a natural way to prevent dental plaque, it stops vomiting and it gives energy and power to all parts of the body, and it also soothes the stomach lining.
