Eid-ul-Fitr

After the Blessed month of Ramadan (Fasting) comes to an end, the month of Shawwal starts.

The First day of Shawwaal is called Eid-ul-Fitr. This is a time of rejoicing for the Muslims.

There are 12 Sunnah for the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, These being:

  • To wake up early in the morning.
  • To take a bath (Ghusl).
  • To clean the teeth with Miswaak.
  • To wear the best cloths that you have.
  • To use perfume.
  • To give Sadqa-e-Fitr before going to read Eid Namaz.
  • To eat something sweet (like dates) before going to pray Eid Namaz.
  • To go to the Eid Gaah (Place where Eid is read) early.
  • To walk to the Eid Gaah.
  • To offer Eid prayer in the Eid Gaah.
  • To go to the Eid Gaah by one way and to come back another way.
  • To recite the following Taqbeer slowly on the way to the Eid Gaah.

“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa lillahil Hamd."
