Dry Stick turns into Sword
Hazrat Imam Baihaqi (R.A) reported that the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) gave Hazrat Ukashah (R.A) a dry stick in the battle of Badr. The miracle appearing from it was that the stick in his hand turned into a long shining sword with which he fought in the battle of Badr. That stick turning into a sword remained with Hazrat Ukashah (R.A) for many days. He fought the battles with this very stick until he was martyred fighting against the apostates during the period of Khilafat of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A). This sword was named as “Malawwan”.
Branch Functioning as a Sword
Hazrat Imam Baihaqi (R.A) stated that when the sword of Hazrat Abdullah bin Jahash (R.A) broke in the battle of Uhad, Holy Prophet (S.A.W) gave him a branch of date palm which started functioning as a sword. Ibne Sayyid-an-Nas has written that this sword remained with him continuously and it was sold for two hundred gold coins by his heirs after his death.
Branch Functioning as a Light
Hazrat Imam Ahmad bin Hambal (R.A) stated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (R.A) that once, Hazrat Qatadah bin Numan (R.A) read his Isha prayer with the Prophet (S.A.W). The night was dark and cloudy. Holy Prophet (S.A.W) gave a branch of date palm to Hazrat Qatadah (R.A) and said, “This branch will give you so much light that when you reach your house, you will see a black thing which you must kill out of the house.”
When Hazrat Qatadah (R.A) started walking towards his house, the branch illuminated like a lamp. When he reached his house, he saw the black thing and killed it out. That black thing was Satan which was killed out by the order of the Prophet (S.A.W).
Bunch of Dates Testify the Prophethood of Holy Prophet (S.A.W)
Hazrat Imam Tirmzi (R.A) states on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah Ibne Abbas (R.A) that: “A villager came to Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and asked him how he should know that he is a Prophet of Allah (S.W.T)”. Holy Prophet (S.A.W) replied, “If I call the bunch which is on the date tree, and it comes and bears testimony on my Prophethood?”
So the Beloved Prophet (S.A.W) called that bunch of dates and it bent from the tree and fell down near the Prophet (S.A.W) and bore testimony of the Prophethood of Holy Prophet (S.A.W). Then the Prophet (S.A.W)) asked it to go back to its place. Thus, it went to its place on the tree. Seeing that the villager embraced Islam.
