Ramadan 2007 (Seerat-e-Mustufa (S.A.W))

Manners of Holy Prophet (S.A.W)

There is no need to ask the creation regarding Rasoolullah's (S.A.W) mannerism when the Creator himself states,

“And undoubtedly you possess excellent manners.”(Surah AI-Qalam, Verse 4)

No enemy of the Prophet (S.A.W) has the courage to brand Him as being immoral or uncivil until even today, for it would be similar to denying the presence of the sun in the light of day.

His excellent mannerism, humanity and compassion were all acknowledged by even the most hardened of his enemies. Allah (S.W.T) states regarding the Holy Prophet's (S.A.W), conduct with people, “Then it is the mercy of Allah (S.W.T) that O Beloved!  You became gentle for them, and if you had been hot headed, hard hearted, then they certainly would have dispersed from your circle.”(Surah Ale-lmraan, Verse 159)

Rasoolullah’s (S.A.W) enemies had heard this Ayah (verse) but never once did they say anything in refusal to him having an excellent code of conduct and behaviour.

The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) possessed all admirable traits and manners a person should have, e.g. Forbearance, mercy, compassion, fairness, benevolence, spirit of selflessness, hospitality, bravery, fulfilment of promise, patience, sympathy, humility and much more than mere words can express.

With regards to the importance of maintaining good manners, Rasoolullah (S.A.W) has said, “Nothing is weightier on the scale of deeds than ones good manners.” (Bukhari Shareef)

Sayyidah Aisha (R.A) reported that the Messenger of Allah has said, “The most perfect of faith amongst the believers are those who have the best character and are kindest to their families.” (Tirmizi Shareef)

Sayyidah Aisha (R.A) had very beautifully summarised Holy Prophet’s (S.A.W) mannerism in one sentence, by saying, “Practice of Quranic teachings  was Rasoolullah’s (S.A.W) manners.” (Sahih Muslim)
