Surma
Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said, “Apply Antimony (Surma) because it clears the sight and makes the eyelashes grow.” (Tirmizi Shareef)
Scientifically it is found that Antimony is antiseptic. It saves the retina from Ultra Violet Rays of the sun, from lead infection, from contagious germs, from wounds, scratches and burning sensation etc. (Sunnate Nabawi Aur Jadeed Science, Vol.1, pg. 345)
The Court of Prophet Hood
The court of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) was unlike that of kings and emperors. It was free from the formalities of guards, thrones, crowns etc, but a small veranda of sand built by the Sahabah Ikraam (R.A) in the courtyard of Masjid-Nabawee, with a mat laid out, upon which He (S.A.W) sat.
Bukhari Shareef narrates that when people would attend Rasoolullah’s (S.A.W) gathering, they sat so still that it seemed as if birds were perched on their heads. (Bukhari Shareef, Pg. 398)
Rasoolullah (S.A.W) would firstly listen to the people in need of help, and after doing so He (S.A.W) fulfilled their needs, Rasoolullah (S.A.W) also met with the representatives of tribes. When He (S.A.W) spoke, the gathering become completely silent and would listen to him attentively, their heads bowed in respect. (Bukhari Shareef, Vol. 1, Pg380)
There were no restrictions for attending Rasoolullah’s (S.A.W) court. Every type of individual (rich, poor, Arab, non-Arab) was allowed to enter into the gathering and talk to him. There could be no interruption even if the speaker was the poorest of paupers or the most wealthiest of men, all were given a chance to speak and everyone was heard to by Rasoolullah (S.A.W).
When some people would go too far in talking and asking questions, He (S.A.W) endured them with much patience and self-control. Islamic teachings and rules were taught, cases were heard and consultations with the Sahabah Ikraam were held. Rasoolullah (S.A.W) would also give official orders for the betterment of the Muslim Umamah within these gatherings.
