Social interaction
It has been narrated by Hazrat Amr bin Saaib (R.A), “Once, Rasoolullah’s (S.A.W) foster mother (Sayyidah Bibi Halima (R.A)), her husband and His (S.A.W) foster brother (Sayyidah Halima's (R.A) son), came to him in Madina.
The personal sheet of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) was spread by him personally for His foster-family members to sit on. He (S.A.W) used to also send clothes as gifts to Sayyidah Thuwaiba (R.A) (the slave-girl of Abu Lahab who also breast-fed Rasoolullah (S.A.W) for a while). (Shifaa Shareef, Vol. 1, Pg. 75)
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) did not have a special bed; rather, He used to sleep on the beds of the Azwaaj-e-Mutaharaat (the blessed wives of the Prophet (S.A.W)). Hazrat Aisha (R.A) states, “When I would drink water from a bowl or eat a piece of meat, He would partake from the very place I had eaten or drank from whenever I presented them to him”. (Zarqaani, Vol. 4. Pg. 269)
If the world today adopts the social practices of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W), there would be no war, hostility or hatred, and the world would reap the benefits of an everlasting peace. The beloved Prophet (S.A.W) has set an example, and if we follow him, our lives in this world shall be beneficial and our lives in the Hereafter shall be for ever blissful.
Modesty
It is very significant that modesty has been particularly stressed as apart of the faith. It is because modesty reflects a state of mental piety.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (R.A) reported that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (S.A.W.) said, “Imaan has over seventy branches, and modesty is a branch of Imaan”. (Muslim)
Every action of Holy Prophet (S.A.W) was far from immodesty and taunt, and never did he speak in an immoral and inhumane manner.
Sayyidah Aisha (R.A) has said, “Rasoolullah (S.A.W) was neither an abusive nor an indecent person. He did not speak in a frivolous manner and never sought revenge when he was wronged, but chose to forgive the person”. She (R.A) also states that She (R.A) never saw the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) undressed due to the modesty that he had. (Shifaa Shareef, Vol.1, Pg. 69)
