Sunnah of Durood Shareef

"Innal llaha wa Malaa'ikatahu Yu salluna allan nabiyi.  Ya Ayyuhal lazeena aamanu sallu alaihi wasallimu tasleema” (Quran)

Meaning:

Surely, Allah and His Angels shower their blessings on the Nabi (Prophet of Allah – the communicator of hidden news). Oh you who believe!  Send upon him (Divine) blessings and salute him fully well with best salutation. (Para 22, Ayah 56 – Kanzul Imaan)

Hadith:

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Ma'sud (R.A) narrates that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (S.A.W) said: "On the Day of Judgement, the closest to me from among the people will be those who have read the most amount of Durood Shareef". (Tirmidhi)

Very Big Angel:

It is a saying of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) that Allah (S.W.T) has created an Angel.

One of its arms is in the West and the other in the East. Its head is just underneath the throne and both of its feet are on the seventh ground. It wings are the same size as the whole creation on the Earth.

When one of my followers reads Darood Shareef on me, Allah (S.W.T) orders it to dip itself in a sea of light. The angel dips itself into this sea and when it comes out, it flaps its wings. For each drop that falls on the floor, Allah creates an Angel.

All these angels pray for the forgiveness of that person who read Darood Shareef until the day of Judgement. (Mukashifa-tul-Quloob)

Darood Shareef:

One who recites the following Darood Shareef once will be fortunate to be rewarded with virtuous deeds for 1000 days. Seventy Angels of Allah (S.W.T) keep on writing good deeds for 1000 days in the person’s mark sheet.

‘ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA SAYYIDINA WA MAULANA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI SAYYIDINA WA MAULANA MUHAMMADIN KAMA TUHIBBU WA TARDALA’

“O Allah, send your mercy and blessings upon our master Muhammad and upon the family of our master as you love and like for him”.
