Ramadan 2006 (Sunnah : The Perfect Example)

Sunnah of Visiting the Sick (Part 2)

Hazrat Aisha (R.A) states, “When Rasoolullah (S.A.W) was ill, he would   recite the four ‘Quls’ (Surah Al-Kafiroon, Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) blow on his hands and pass them over on the back and front. He also recited these, blew on his hands and passed them over his body during his fatal illness.”   (Bukhari and Muslim)

Forgiveness or die as a Martyr (Shaheed):

Whoever in the state of illness reads the following Dua forty times, should he recover, his sins shall be forgiven, and should he die, he shall be granted the reward of a Martyr.

Dua:

Laa ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka Inni Kuntu Minadhalimeen

There is none worth worship except you. Glorified are you.
Surly, I am one of the cruels.   (Kanzul Imaan: Para 17, Ayaat 87, Page 427)

Cure for every illness:

Holy Prophet (S.A.W) has said, “Every sickness has a cure”.
Hazrat Abu Darda (R.A) has reported that Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W) said, “Allah has sent down the diseases and the cure, and He (S.W.T) has appointed a cure for every disease, so treat yourself medically, but use nothing unlawful”. (Mishkat)

Fruits of Paradise:

Hazrat Sauban (R.A) has reported that the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said, “When a Muslim pays a visit to his sick Muslim brother he continues to gather the fruits of Paradise until he returns.” (Muslim)

Dua of an Angel:

Hazrat Salma (R.A) has related Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W) saying, “When you visit an ill person tell him to make Dua for you, for his Dua is like that of an angel”. (Meaning the Dua will be accepted soon). (Ibn Majah)
