989 Recently a married male member of my family has passed away, my Allah (S.W.T) rest his soul in peace. Some members of the extended family claim that the wife of the late male should be not allowed to see the face of the corpse, or leave the house for some period of time to show she is grieving the death of her late husband. They also, claim that as he has died their husband/ wife relationship has ended. I know their claims are not 100% correct and was wondering if you could provide any Hadiths/ Ayats that refer to such circumstances and what should/ shouldn't be done.

988 I’ve got an odd question to ask. Is it permissible to collect points such as nectar or Tesco and use them in exchange for items or would that be gambling somehow?

987 I would like to know if any of the following two competitions are Haraam. Also if you could detail as to when can (if possible) for a competition involving money to be Halal. 1. Reverse auctions SMS. This is carried out by sending a text message being charged at say £1.50. You are bidding for an item say a car for example. You have to text the lowest unique bid that no-one else has already done so, to win the car. For example you could text 10pence, if no-one else texts 10pence and that is the lowest unique bid then you win. But if someone else also decides to text 10pence then your bid no longer becomes unique and so you will have to choose another text if you want another try? 2. Competition lines charged at premium rate numbers. You have to ring a premium rate number, charged at say 50pence per minute. You have to be the 1000th or 2000th or 3000th caller etc.... when you call, the computer voice will let you know what calling number you are. If for example you are the 995th number, you may want to quickly call again to be the 1000th caller; you may be quick or miss it and have to wait to try for the 2000th. You win a prize or monetary value if you get one of the number sequences. Is this Haraam or not?

986 Is Spirit Vinegar Halal? Just wanted to know is this Halal or not as this ingredient is in most types of coleslaw, salads, ketchup etc. I have done research many times about this ingredient. Some scholars say it is and some say it isn't.

980 What is the opinion of Scholars upon a reciter of Naat (either in Mosque or on TV) who does not have his beard according to Sunnah (or even clean shaved)? Is it not true that he is contradicting himself when on one hand he shows affection for the Beloved Prophet (S.A.W) through his words but his actions do not speak of his Love for the Prophet (S.A.W)? Keeping full length beard is Wajib and person who trims or shaves his beard is doing a Haram act. Should people who do not have full length beard even be allowed to recite Naat Shareef in the mosques?

973 In my community (and I'm sure many others) there is this 40 day thing that seems so significant. Here, the house where the deceased lived has all the furniture removed, bed sheets spread out in the lounge and people coming and going for the entire 40 day period. Indeed they do pray some Yaseen Sharif etc, but isn’t it a better and simpler thing to just spend the three days visiting and praying for the deceased and leaving it at that? So that there is less prolonged stress for the immediate family and daily life. Please explain the ideal Islamic process in practical terms for when AFTER a person dies.

972 Before I ask my question I would like to tell you my problem. The past few years have been good for my family by the grace of Allah, we have grown financially and religiously, now I remember Allah in both good and bad times. But now I am facing a problem which refuses to be solved, me and my father have put in a lot of effort to make our business grow as expenses are growing since I am in university now and it is getting difficult to manage. However our efforts have not been fruitful, I heard from my friend that there is a Surah in the Quran which if you read it helps to grow financially. Please tell me what to do.

971 I see on some Sunni websites... There is Like A Gold Coin Color Shape Drawing Design (To the nearest meaning), where we see the name of Allah on top, something underneath, and Our Prophet's Name (S.A.W) on bottom (I hope you understand), and what does this mean? Also we sometimes see this drawing with the names on the Nalaain Paak, is this permissible?
